Common questions

Is this a government website?
This site is not a government website and is not affiliated with any utility, state agency, or the IRS. We aggregate and organize public information and link to official sources.
Are the dollar amounts official?
Sample data shown for demonstration. Dollar amounts and eligibility are illustrative placeholders, not official figures, until verified against a linked source.
How do you make money?
We may earn revenue from advertising and affiliate links on this site (for example, ad networks or Amazon Associates). This never changes the rebate rules or amounts we describe.
Are federal home energy tax credits still available in 2026?
No. The 25C and 25D federal tax credits ended December 31, 2025 under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. For 2026, the main savings are IRA Home Energy Rebates (HOMES and HEAR) where your state has launched them, utility rebates, and weatherization assistance for income-qualified households.
Which states have launched IRA Home Energy Rebates?
As of July 25, 2026, 27 states have launched HOMES and/or HEAR, 22 are still preparing to launch, and 2 states (Idaho and South Dakota) declined the funding. See our state-by-state status tracker for the current list.
Can I still combine a rebate with a federal tax credit?
The federal 25C and 25D home energy tax credits ended after 2025, so for a 2026 install there is no federal credit to combine. You can often stack an IRA rebate (HOMES or HEAR) with a separate utility rebate, but total incentives generally can't exceed the project cost. Confirm stacking rules with each program.
