Home energy rebate calculator

Get an honest, clearly-labeled estimate of the IRA and utility rebates you might receive — plus the documents you'll need. The federal 25C/25D tax credits ended after 2025, so they're not included. Every number is an estimate, not a guarantee.

Sample data shown for demonstration. Dollar amounts and eligibility are illustrative placeholders, not official figures, until verified against a linked source.

How to read this estimate

Fill in your project and we'll estimate a range. The low case counts only utility rebates, which vary by provider and may not exist locally. The high case adds an IRA HEAR rebate you may qualify for if your state's program is live and your income qualifies. The federal 25C/25D tax credits ended after 2025 and are not included.

This is an estimate, not an offer

Real programs use local Area Median Income, equipment tiers, and current funding. Always confirm amounts and eligibility with the official program before you buy or apply.

Calculator FAQs

Are these amounts guaranteed?
No. Every figure is an estimate based on sample assumptions. Actual rebates and credits depend on your exact program, income, equipment, and available funding.
What's the difference between a rebate and a tax credit?
A rebate is usually paid after purchase (some utilities offer instant discounts). A tax credit reduced the tax you owed at filing. Note that the federal 25C and 25D home energy tax credits ended after 2025, so in 2026 rebates are the main pathway.
Can renters use rebates?
Most rebates and credits require the property owner to apply. Income-qualified renters may still be served through weatherization assistance with landlord consent.
