Editorial policy

Last updated: January 12, 2026

This site covers money-sensitive decisions, so accuracy and transparency guide everything we publish.

Sourcing

We aim to base incentive information on official sources — the IRS, state energy offices, and utility program pages. Every program and figure should carry a link to its source and a review date.

Sample vs. verified data

Until a figure is confirmed against an official source, it is marked “Sample data.” Sample data shown for demonstration. Dollar amounts and eligibility are illustrative placeholders, not official figures, until verified against a linked source.

Reviews and freshness

Incentives change and funding runs out. We record a “last reviewed” date on program data and re-check on a schedule. Incentives change frequently and funding can run out. Always verify amounts, deadlines, and eligibility with the official program before you buy or apply.

Independence

Advertising and affiliate relationships do not influence our description of program rules. Sponsored and affiliate content is labeled. See how we make money.
